Jamie (she/her) received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in both Child and Family Development and LGBT Studies from San Diego State University. Her experience in different aspects of mental health and educational fields has provided her opportunities to interact with and serve diverse populations in a variety of settings. Aside from her current role in private practice, Jamie's recent positions include serving as the mental health professional and Assistant Clinical Professor for UCI’s Gender Diversity Program, work at 417 Recovery treating teens with mental health and substance abuse issues, and California Family Institute as a therapist for individuals, couples, families, and adolescents in their community non-profit clinic. Other positions have included mental health advocacy as a Peer Educator in the San Diego State University Counseling and Psychological Services Center, conducting parenting workshops developed by First 5 San Diego and the Child and Family Development Department as a Parent Educator Research Assistant, and serving South Bay Community Services at a domestic violence shelter for women. Jamie is also the founder and past facilitator of a collective group of like-minded professionals called OC Therapists & Healers Connect, which brought together those from various fields who work in and support holistic wellness.
Jamie works from a strengths-based perspective and strives to remain empathetic and supportive of clients as they travel through their therapeutic journeys. She is theoretically grounded in narrative and postmodern practices, however, she believes in using an integrated approach including solution focused therapy, positive psychology, motivational interviewing, existential-humanistic therapy, family systems, client centered therapy, and mindfulness based treatment. Jamie believes that positive outcomes stem from working collaboratively with clients to build trusting relationships while attending to every person’s unique needs. She maintains a non-judgmental therapy style with all clients, is culturally sensitive, and supports LGBQ+ and Trans affirming therapy.
Jamie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#111226), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (#13470), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional working as a private practice therapist in California.
Trans Affirming Therapy Trainer & Lecturer
In addition to private practice, Jamie strives to help integrate trans-competent and compassionate practices into outside communities by offering talks to groups, companies, other mental health and related professionals, high education institutions, treatment centers, and students.
